Messages vs. message events
How tracking works — and why the dashboard counts events, not just sends.
A message records what was sent or received. A message event records what happened after — delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complained, unsubscribed, replied, or a STOP.
Why it matters
Because engagement is spread over time, the dashboard aggregates events by when they occurred, giving a truthful picture instead of only counting the moment of send.
Where events come from
Provider webhooks (email and SMS) and the email open-tracking pixel feed events in automatically. Developers can read them via the events API.
